Feedstock Refinery/Ethanol Production Plant

Description

The scope includes a feedstock processing plant, covered storage yard, and organic restaurant/café. The organic restaurant / café includes the following environmental attributes: aquaponic farm greenhouse for on-site food harvesting and demonstration classes, organic roof garden irrigated by the site greywater, solar panel entry canopy, shade trellis fabricated from reclaimed lumber made of recycled content, and living garden wall. The site incorporates solar “tree” carpark canopies and vertical axis wind turbines that harvest power for the processing plant, zeroscape native vegetation throughout with supplemental irrigation from greywater site, greywater retention pond that filters onto site for irrigation, and permeable concrete to minimize site drainage / run-off. The feedstock processing plant features north facing clerestory with south facing solar collector panels, cool roof coating, vertical sun louvers, and a façade screen that is fabricated from recycled metal that protects the building from direct heat gain.
